Page Mandarin, also known as Tantangelo, is a subtropical evergreen fruiting tree known for its heavy production and early-season ripening. This Indio, California creation is a member of the Rutaceae (
Citrus
) family, and began as a cross between a
Minneola Tangelo
and Clementine Mandarin.
The container-friendly citrus bears glossy, deep green, ornamental leaves and showy white flowers which the bees favor. Their seedless, medium-sized fruits resemble small, sweet oranges, and are known for their long hang times and exceptional, sweet flavor. Deep in an orange hue, the thin, easy-peeling rind of the Page Mandarin contains juicy flesh without all the seeds. Perfect for eating out of hand, making into marmalade, or adding to salads, there’s nothing these juicy treasures don’t amplify! Squeeze them into a glass of sweet vitamin-C and get your taste buds prepared for a treat!
