Grumachama, also known as Brazilian Cherry, is a gorgeous, small to medium sized sub-tropical cherry tree indigenous to the coastal areas of southeast Brazil. It is related to
Surinam Cherry

Grumichama tree abundantly produces gorgeous delicate white flowers in the spring and small apple-shaped fruit. The grape-like cherry fruit is dark purple to black in color when ripe. The fruit has thin, dark skin and exudes deep-red juice that is sweet and tart in flavor.
Grumichama fruit trees can grow anywhere from 6-25 feet and are easy to grow in containers. Will grow about 1-2 feet per year and seedlings will produce fruit within 3-4 years. Grumichama is a very hardy fruit tree to grow in Florida because it can handle light frosts and will survive drought periods.
